Privacy

This site collects your personal data when you write to us through the contact form, request a proforma, send us your written order or sign in with your customer account. It uses no cookies and no third-party tracking tools: we count visits with our own tool, without cookies and without storing your IP address (explained under «Visit statistics, without cookies»).

Your container is saved in your browser

The list of products you add and the port you choose are saved only in your own browser (local storage), so they are not lost when you change page. They do not reach us until you request the proforma, and you can delete them with the «Empty» button or by clearing the site data in your browser.

Your written order

«Write your order» builds the sheet in your own browser, with the store's rules and our catalog. It uses no artificial intelligence and, while you build it, the text does not leave your browser. It only reaches us when you move the sheet to the container and request the proforma, or when you press «Send my written order to JEAR» so that a person at JEAR builds it by hand; we then handle it like any other proforma request. Photos and PDFs you attach are not read by the store and do not leave your browser. Do not write personal data in the order that is not needed.

If you dictate the order, speech recognition is done by your browser, not by JEAR. Some browsers (Chrome, for example) send the audio to their maker's servers to turn it into text; if you do not want that, type the order instead of dictating it.

The built order is a proposal: you review it, change whatever you want and decide whether to send it. No decision with effects on you is made automatically.

Your customer account and what we learn about you

If you sign in with your email, we keep your email, your name and your company if you give them to us, your country and your port, and what we learn from the orders you move to the container: brands and origins you prefer, what you mean by your own words, the sizes of your cartons and how you round to full cartons. Each item of data says where it came from. We use it only to build your next orders better (article 6.1.b GDPR, at your request). In «What JEAR knows about you» you can see all of it, correct it, download it or have it forgotten, and delete your account with everything learned. Your orders, quantities and prices are never shown to another customer; the words used in your country only help other customers when several customers use them, and never with your name.

The session is saved in your browser (local storage) for six months or until you press «Sign out». If you delete your account, everything learned about you is deleted; orders you have already sent remain in the request file without your name.

My orders and the map of your shipments

If your account is linked to your customer record, in «My orders» you see which step each order is at, the documents we can already share and a map with the position of each shipment. The position is calculated from the vessel's route, its actual departure and the arrival estimated by the shipping line. If we ever use a vessel position provider, we only pass it the vessel's public number, never your data. If you give us your customs agent, we keep their name and contact details to send them the documents and the arrival notice; you can change it or ask us to delete it.

Visit statistics, without cookies

To know which pages are used and where buyers come from, each page sends our server (JEAR Gestión) a notice of the visit, without cookies and without storing anything on your device. It records: the page and its title; what you search for in the catalog; where you came from (the previous website and, if the address carries them, the campaign parameters utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign); the screen width; the type of browser, operating system and device; the approximate country, region and city that our provider Vercel derives from the IP address; how long you stayed and how far down you scrolled; and what you do on the page: search, add a product to the container, request a proforma, write to us, send a written order, sign in to your account, press WhatsApp, email or phone, download a file, open another website or change language. If you open an address that does not exist, it is recorded so that we can fix the broken link.

We do not store your IP address. To tell visitors apart, the server computes from your IP, your browser and a secret key a pseudonymous hashed fingerprint (a digest from which the IP cannot simply be read) that changes every day, so it cannot be used to follow anyone from one day to the next. Each page also carries a random number that only exists while it is open.

We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the store and our campaigns (article 6.1.f GDPR). This data is deleted automatically after 25 months. It is processed on our behalf by Vercel, which receives the notice, and Supabase, where it is stored (see «Who else sees them»). You can object at any time: open any page of the website adding ?trafico=no to the end of the address (for example, www.jeartecnica.com/?trafico=no) and your browser stops counting your visits; it keeps only that preference in its local storage, and ?trafico=si removes it.

What the website loads from other sites

The website's typefaces are served from our own site: we load no fonts from Google or any other third party, and no advertising or social media tools. Only if you upload an Excel file to your container or your order does your browser download the Excel reader (SheetJS) from cdn.sheetjs.com, which sees your IP address as with any download; the file is read in your browser and is not sent to anyone. Links to WhatsApp or other websites only take you there if you press them.

Data controller

JEAR TÉCNICA S.A., NIF A28847549, Paseo de la Castellana 259C, planta 18, 28046 Madrid, España. Email: info@jeartecnica.com.

What data and what for

Your name, company, email, phone (if you give it), profile, destination port, the message and, if you request a proforma, the list of products in your container. We use them only to answer your enquiry and prepare the offer or the proforma for you. If the enquiry leads to a commercial transaction, the contact details go into the file for that transaction.

With each message, proforma request or written order we also keep a pseudonymous hash of your IP address (a digest computed with a secret key, not the IP itself) to limit abuse of the forms and, when the store knows them, the website you came from and the campaign parameters of that visit (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, gclid or fbclid), to know which campaigns bring requests. The records that count attempts per hour for those limits are deleted automatically after two days.

Why we can use them

In the contact form, because you give us your consent by ticking the box (article 6.1.a GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting the processing carried out before. When you request a proforma, because they are necessary to handle your request before a possible contract (article 6.1.b) and, if there is a transaction, to perform it. The IP hash and the campaign data we keep with each request, on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and measuring our campaigns (article 6.1.f).

How long we keep them

For the time needed to handle your enquiry and, afterwards, for as long as legal liabilities may arise from it. Data linked to a commercial transaction is kept for the periods set by commercial and tax law.

Who else sees them

No one other than those involved in your transaction, except where required by law. To ask for a price we send the factory your list of products and quantities, without your contact details. If you place the order, the factory, the inspection company (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or QIMA), the freight forwarder and the shipping line receive the shipping data they need, such as your company's name as consignee. If we act as an agent, the factory invoices you directly and receives your billing details.

The following process the data on our behalf, under a data processing agreement: our email provider; Supabase, where we store the messages, proforma requests and written orders you send us from the store, customer accounts and visit statistics (servers in the European Union); and Vercel, which hosts this website and our order server, and therefore receives every visit and every form. Vercel is a United States company: when your data leaves the European Union, it does so with the safeguards that the GDPR requires for international transfers. We do not make automated decisions with effects on you.

Your rights

You can ask to access your data, correct or delete it, restrict or object to its use, and request its portability, by writing to us through the contact form or to info@jeartecnica.com. If you believe we are not handling it properly, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es).
